Advantages for teachers
I teach. So, while I made this for the benefit of my learners, I knew I was the one who would be using it.
With my own ease of use in mind, there were a few things I wanted my worksheet software to do:
- Maximize the return I got on my effort. After I wrote up one great definition for one worksheet, I didn't want to have to think it up again the next time I taught a word.
- Personalize the worksheets to me, and to my learners. I have a pretty distinct classroom personality. And my learners have personalities, too. Where it was possible to get a laugh out of learners, I wanted that option.
- Not add any other banding to my worksheets. We all use worksheets from the internet, but tacking a website onto the worksheets would negate all the personalization I wanted.
- Allow me to do more with the vocabulary. Once I had entered the vocab, created definitions and fill-in-the-blank activities (and, in some cases, added pictures), I wanted to get the most out of it.
Now, after a few years of making the software progressively less clunky, I can say that it does all those things.
